With all the topics we covered on our blog this year, it’s a challenge to pick our favorite post. Throughout 2016 we shared interviews with patients; news about partnerships and initiatives that help support patients and science; stories that illustrate our focus on advancing patient health and access to care; and much more.

One Brave Idea $75 Million Research Award for Coronary Heart Disease Winner Announced

One Brave Idea™ is a new initiative, formed through a collaboration of the American Heart Association, Verily (formerly Google Life Sciences) and AstraZeneca, that set out to identify a visionary leader who would lead the research charge to end coronary heart disease and improve the cardiovascular health of people around the world. In October we announced the recipient of the $75 million research award and shared how this individual will take on this challenge. 


AstraZeneca Gives Back: Advancing Respiratory Health Beyond the Medicine

In November we shared the first in a series on our blog that showcases the ways in which AstraZeneca, through our corporate responsibility investments, supports organizations, programs and policies that advance patient and community health beyond the medicine. Building upon the success of the 2015 Diabetes Linkup, AstraZeneca gathered type 2 diabetes online influencers together in Gaithersburg to discuss and share strategies for strengthening the voices of these advocates to in turn help patients with this disease. 


Millions in Prescription Savings Provided to Patients in 2015

In 2015, AstraZeneca’s AZ&Me™ Prescription Savings Programs provided more than $617 million in prescription savings to nearly 286,000 patients in the United States. See the impact these programs have on patients and learn if you are eligible for assistance.
