Jim Fox
Senior Vice President, Americas Supply Operations
Responsibilities
Jim oversees seven fully operational manufacturing sites within North, Central, and South America which are collectively responsible for the, manufacturing, packaging and supply of billions of doses of medicines for patients worldwide each year.
Additionally, he is shaping the evolution of the company’s US manufacturing footprint, including the development of a $4.5 billion manufacturing facility in Virginia. He also serves as a member of the Global Operations Senior Leadership Team.
Prior Experience
Jim joins the Americas having previously served as Head of Sweden Operations. There, he led a team of approximately 4,000 employees in Södertälje, the largest high-tech production and supply center within AstraZeneca, as well as one of the largest biopharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the world.
Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Jim spent more than two decades working in GlaxoSmithKline in roles spanning R&D and Global Manufacturing and Supply, both working and living in the UK, Singapore and Japan.
Education
- Jim has a BEng Degree and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK and has completed the Oxford University Business Economics Program as well as the Data Analysis for Management course from the London School of Economics.
