Joris Silon

US Country President, BioPharmaceuticals Business Unit 

Responsibilities

Joris is US Country President, Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit (BBU) and is responsible for product strategy and commercial delivery for the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM) and Respiratory & Immunology therapy areas.

Prior Experience

Prior to assuming his current role in 2022, he held the role of Senior Vice President, Global CVRM since 2019. Joris joined AstraZeneca in 2000 and has held various senior commercial and leadership roles, including Area Vice President of Asia, Area Vice President of Europe, Area Vice President of Western Europe and Country President of Belgium and Luxembourg.

Education

  • MSc in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and a postgraduate degree in Marketing and Management, both from the University of Leuven, Belgium
