- AstraZeneca makes contribution to Delaware Does More Delaware Does More, an initiative administered by United Way of Delaware and the Food Bank of Delaware, today announced that AstraZeneca has donated $100,000 to the Winter 2009-2010 Delaware Does More program, with $50,000 allocated to United Way of Delaware for emergency utility and shelter assistance and $50,000 to the Food Bank of Delaware for additional food supplies.

- AstraZeneca Medicare Part D patient assistance program no longer requires co-pays AstraZeneca announced today that patients enrolled in the company’s Medicare Part D prescription savings program will no longer pay co-pays for their medicines through the program.

- AstraZeneca accepts Secretary Of Defense Award for supporting employees serving in National Guard and Reserve AstraZeneca accepted the 2009 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award Thursday at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. - New UD program promotes better exercise, nutrition and sleep The University of Delaware's Student Health Service has launched a new program to encourage students to deal with obesity and stress, and engage in disease prevention. The Healthy HENS (Healthy Exercise, Nutrition and Sleep) program, developed with support from AstraZeneca, is designed to help students eat right, exercise and get enough sleep.

- Governor Markell, Transportation Secretary Wicks, Congressman Castle promote “clean and healthy commuting” by biking to work Governor Jack Markell and Congressman Mike Castle joined a group of AstraZeneca employees on a morning bike commute to work to stress the need to ease traffic, create less pollution and promote healthy exercise. When the cyclists arrived at AstraZeneca’s US headquarters, they were greeted by Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) Secretary Carolann Wicks and AstraZeneca US President Rich Fante who spoke to AstraZeneca employees about the many merits of commuting by bicycle.
