A diverse and inclusive corporate environment is paramount to our success.

We are not just a pharmaceutical company -- we're an organization that applies varied strengths to a common cause. As a global business, we believe diversity is a vital part of how we innovate, meet customer needs, and perform overall. We make diversity an active part of our company culture in our workforce, in our workplace and in the marketplace.

We have been recognized by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association as an "Employer of Choice for Diversity Efforts", named one of "25 Noteworthy Companies for Diversity" by Diversity Inc, named one of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" by Working Mother magazine, and named a "Top Employer" by Careers and the disABLED.

Employee Network Groups (ENGs). ENGs are the most vibrant and active diversity effort at AstraZeneca. They are voluntary associations of employees who support corporate values and work together to enrich the concept of community in our diverse business environment. They are consulted for ideas, opinions and perspectives on business initiatives. They are also a way to network and meet people throughout AstraZeneca.

AZ Exchange. Standout employees are nominated to attend this internal meeting and bring their influence to the way AstraZeneca operates. AZ invites people from all areas to discuss any aspects of the business they want to address.

External Diversity Groups. AstraZeneca partners with several diversity initiatives outside of our doors, including InRoads (an internship program for African Americans), LOFT (Latinos on Fast Track), Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, NABA (National Association of Black Accountants), NBMBAA (National Black MBA Association), NSHMBA (National Society for Hispanic MBAs) and many more.

Reaching out to the field. Because most of the groups operate at headquarters, it can be hard for our professionals in the field to participate. That is why the ENGs hold teleconferences to reach out to field employees and bring them into some of the opportunities happening at headquarters. Our employees are also very active in the communities they belong to, often forming teams to participate in health-related community and cultural events.
