  • ONGLYZA™ (saxagliptin), a new treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, now available in U.S. pharmacies

August 14, 2009 – Wilmington, DE – Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and AstraZeneca today announced that ONGLYZA™ (saxagliptin), a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitor, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 31, 2009, is now available, by prescription, in pharmacies across the United States.  BMS and AZ began shipping ONGLYZA to wholesalers the next business day following the FDA approval.
